Mapping Pedestrian Infrastructure Mapathon

PoliMappers, Agenzia Mobilità Ambiente e Territorio (AMAT), Wikimedia Italia and Meta teamed up to host a mapathon on improving pedestrian map data infrastructure on OpenStreetMap (OSM) for Milan.

This initiative aims to complete and maintain pedestrian map data infrastructure on OpenStreetMap. Agenzia Mobilità Ambiente e Territorio (AMAT) has mapped more than 2391 km of sidewalks, 15337 crossing, 36147 kerbs and 3176 transportation platforms on OpenStreetMap.

Earlier with these mapathons, we completed mapping maximum speed 30 limit streets for safer pedestrian areas. We’re still continuing our effort with fixing missing crossing way and untagged crossing Ways.

Join us Nov 23rd from 17:00 to 19:00 CET

In this mapathon, we’re going to walk you through how to get started with OpenStreetMap and map pedestrian areas to document safer and pedestrian friendly areas on OpenStreetMap based on AMAT provided data.
